Day 3. Geeks Bearing Gifts

There was a knock at my door this afternoon……. I thought at first the geeky librarian woman come to tell me I had a book overdue ( I have 3 overdue as a matter of fact…) it was in fact a lady from the Local Methodist Church telling me that as I live in an  ‘old people’s bungalow’ that I was entitled to a Harvest Basket as ‘everyone get’s one’ who lives in these houses.

RESULT!  A few extra treats to make my next few days more bearable!

Day 3. Lunch. If you are what you eat……. am I a Cous-Cous??

DSC00508  Cous -Cous again.. with the same amount of Carrot n Onion…but this time with the addition of 1tsp of Tomato puree and the same of Pesto……. Double strength coffee and the obligatory water!

I’m beginning to LOVE Cous-Cous and am busy planning meals with it and variations with additions for when i next get paid. It’s cheap, fast to make, nutritious and tasty.depending on what you add. Its a little bland on its own with a little oil, salt n pepper, but still edible….it IS after all, pasta in another form…….

Day 2. I may have skipped lunch…but Dinner was awesome!

Well today, I skipped lunch. Believe it or not I actually forgot about food as being busy will sometimes distract.

For Dinner the descision was made to have Gammon, Cous-Cous and Potato wedges.

I took 1/3 of a carrot and a small onion, diced and added them to a measure of Cous-Cous, dash of S&P and a teaspoon of ready chopped chillies, 2 tsp of Olive oil and cover with boiling water.

As that was reconstituting I cut some potato wedges, addes a spoonful of flour, a drizzle of oil and salt n lots of pepper, tossed them and then Microwaved for 8 minutes, turning over halfway, after that I took 1/4 of my Gammon, about 125g and microwaved that for 5 minutes.

plated up with a drizzle of Balsamic on the spuds, and a splodge of Tomato puree.

It was delicious!

A pint of dilute orange squash, the obligatory glass of water pre-meal and I was actually full..stuffed!

One surprise was there is enough Cous-Cous left over for Lunch tomorrow!

Happy Days!

DAY 2 The Breakfast of Champions…….. Champion the Wonder Horse that is!

Porridge Oats n Coffee.

Was not as bad as it sounds actually….. I made the Oats with 2 spoons coffee mate, 2 sugars, a Yoghurt pot of Porridge oats and just added Boiling water and stirred. No Microwave, nothing….and they were very very good.

The Oats thicken up as much as if you had microwaved them and were not too sweet….tomorrow I will skip the coffee mate as I don’t think they need it.

I am not hungry this morning at all.oh don’t get me wrong, a Full English and a pint Mug of Tea would go down a treat right now….but I don’t NEED it…….. (ask me again on Friday when I’m chewing the Neighbours Dog’s bone and the story may be different.)

Anyhow’s, I am going to make another Coffee and read the paper now…..see you again at Lunchtime, I have no clue what i will make yet.

Day 1 Final Thoughts

Well.. where do I begin?

Should I feel chuffed with myself for having completed a whole day? not really.. some people on this planet unfortunately go days and days without food. I have done nothing special by cutting my intake down.

I have however noticed a few things.

1. I do not feel as sluggish as usual having eaten smaller portions and the normal bloated feeling is not there.

2. I enjoyed what food i did eat  (let’s see if I feel the same way on day 5!!)

3. Feeling thirsty feels the same as being Hungry to me.

Goodnight folks, whoever read’s this… i will ramble on more tomorrow!

Day 1 Evening Meal

Well tonight is my first night of this Blog.

Rice and Curry Sauce, ( no meat) just plain rice with a sprinkle of Salt and Pepper, topped with half a jar of Tikka Masala Sauce I had in the fridge.

1 pint of squash and a Coffee.

I have also had 2 Coffees and a couple of glasses of water during the afternoon.

DSC00486DSC00487DSC00489DSC00490

I love the CO-OP jars of curry sauces, they do a nice Korma, And a Tikka Masala…..tonight it was Tikka Masala sauce..Yumm!

Lunch (OK Brunch.) Day 1…. Use That Bread!

Well the surprise was, I had a crust in that bread! Bonus!!

I decided to make a Cheese and Onion Sandwich with a scrape of Pesto n Tomato…. Mmmmmm Yummy!

Also took on board a tip from years ago..Drink a glass of water before you eat…..so i did.

Total food intake today so far…… (including Coffee)

YES…that waist measurement is in inches! I am quite frankly, totally disgusted with myself. I have totally let myself go.

Maybe this enforced lesser quantity of food will do me good, I do realize that i have very litle to NO fresh food, veggies, salad etc in the house, or fruit. THIS WILL CHANGE…for me next blog, the follow up to this one which I plan to call ’12 Days later..the sequel.  (I don’t think this is a new theme.do you? LOL)
